Lincoln Parish Fire District No. 1

Equipment and Facilities

The Fire District operates out of the Central Fire Station in Vienna, Louisiana. Altogether, we have 20 fire stations located strategically throughout Lincoln Parish. These fire stations were carefully placed so that every residence in the parish would be located within 5 miles of one of these stations, and that helps to provide lower fire insurance premiums for our citizens. The current insurance rating for rural Lincoln Parish is a Class 4, which results in a significant annual insurance savings for each home and business.

Each of our 20 fire stations is equipped with at least one fire pumper/tanker. The Fire District currently operates the following equipment and fire apparatus:

In addition to the fire stations, the department also has a 60-acre training facility located off Louisiana Highway 33 north of Ruston. This facility is jointly owned by the Fire District and the City of Ruston Fire Department. Our training facility consists of a four story smoke tower, a "burn building", a building set up for search and rescue training and a maze, and a 1,600 square foot classroom building. There is also a 5-acre pond located at the training center which is used for training in water drafting. And Long range plans include a driver training area. This training facility is extremely beneficial in the training of new volunteers and the continued in-service training of existing members.
