The Board of Commissioners is the governing body for the Lincoln Parish Fire Protection District No. 1. The members of the commission are appointed by the Lincoln Parish Police Jury and the Town Coucils of the incorporated areas within the Fire District. Each member is appointed to serve a two-year term. The Commission is responsible for hiring a Director of Fire Services (Fire Chief) and an assistant. The Director and his assistant answer to the Commission and are responsible for the daily operations of the fire department and the training of its members.
